In my opinion, there is not enough savory food here on this blog. I’d like to post much more recipes for sandwiches, wraps or something like that. But it seems you are more into cakes, cupcakes, and pies… which is ok, but sometimes I have to publish a savory recipe. If I do not post that kind of stuff it will only be written down on a sheet of paper, end up in my kitchen drawer and never see the daylight 😛 Except when I open the drawer to put something in. Well… it’s also just nice to take pictures of other things from time to time.

So I hope you are fine with that I sneak in a savory recipe from time to time. The next cheesecake is coming soon. I promise! 😛

This recipe here is once again inspired by my Holy Guacamole recipe. It’s a really good one and can be used in many other recipes… for delicious chicken wraps for example. Guacamole is my (not so) secret ingredient in many dishes. Burger, sandwiches, wraps, salad… everything gets better with some guac. Almost like bacon 😉

Well… there is not much more to say about the wraps I guess. The soft tortillas are from the supermarket. I could make them myself, but I am actually too lazy for that most of the time. If you want a quick lunch or dinner, it’s the easiest way to use pre-baked tortillas. Also, my oven is not perfect for the preparation of tortillas. If you want to make them it’s best to have an open fire in the kitchen 😉

INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN

(for 4 wraps)

For the fried chicken:
1 chicken breast (about 14 oz.)
1-2 stems of cilantro, chopped
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. lime juice
salt, pepper
some oil for frying

For the sour cream sauce:
1/4 cup (60g) sour cream
1 garlic clove, pressed
2 tbsp. cilantro, chopped
1 tsp. vegetable oil
salt, pepper

For the wraps:
4 soft flour or corn tortillas
2 tomatoes, diced
4-5 tbsp. guacamole
some crushed tortilla chips

(für 4 Wraps)

Für das Hühnchen:
1 Hähnchenbrust (ca. 400g)
1-2 Stiele Koriander, gehackt
2 EL Pflanzenöl
2 El Limettensaft
Salz, Pfeffer
etwas Öl zum Anbraten

Für die Sour Cream Soße:
60g Sour Cream bzw. Saure Sahne
1 Knoblauchzehe, gepresst
2 EL Koriander, gehackt
1 TL Pflanzenöl
Salz, Pfeffer

Für die Wraps:
4 Weizen- oder Maistortillas (weich)
2 Tomaten, gewürfelt
4-5 EL Guacamole
ein paar zerbröselte Tortilla Chips

DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG

1. Clean and dry the chicken. Add the chopped cilantro, oil, lime juice and some salt and pepper to a bowl, add the chicken and let marinate for about 30 minutes. When done marinating, fry in a hot pan with some oil. Remove from the pan, let cool down a bit and then cut into slices.

2. For the sour cream sauce mix the sour cream with the pressed garlic, cilantro, and oil. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

3. To assemble the wraps, warm the tortillas (on the stove or in the microwave), add 1/4 of the sour cream sauce on each tortilla, top with the chicken, diced tomatoes, guacamole and crushed tortilla chips. Wrap and serve with some tortilla chips.

1. Die Hähnchenbrust waschen und säubern. Den gehackten Koriander mit Öl, Limettensaft, Salz und Pfeffer in eine Schüssel geben und dann die Hähnchenbrust darin mindestens 30 Minuten marinieren lassen. Die Hähnchenbrust dann mit etwas Öl in einer Pfanne anbraten und durchbraten. Aus der Pfanne nehmen, etwas abkühlen lassen und dann in Streifen schneiden.

2. Für die Sour Cream Soße die Sour Cream (oder Saure Sahne) mit dem ausgepressten Knoblauch, Koriander und Öl vermischen. Mit Salz und Pfeffer abschmecken und zur Seite stellen.

3. Die Tortillas entweder auf dem Herd oder in der Mikrowelle leicht erwärmen, dann auf jeden Fladen etwa 1/4 der Sour Cream Soße in einem Streifen in die Mitte geben, mit Hühnchen, gewürfelten Tomatenstücken, Guacamole und zerbröselten Tortilla Chips belegen und dann zu Wraps aufrollen. Mit Tortilla Chips servieren.
