Rick and Morty is a cult classic that just happens to be one of my all-time favorite shows! Today I’m going to show you how to draw Morty Smith, Rick’s grandson who is always getting dragged on deep space adventures. So, grab a pencil and let’s get going!
Step 1
The first step in drawing Morty is to draw a large circle for his head, and a rectangular shape beneath it for his torso. Also, go ahead and draw two lines crossing Morty’s face to help us place his facial features.
Step 2
Next, draw the outline of Morty’s eyes following the horizontal line of his head. For this pose, we will be drawing Morty with his eyes closed.
Step 3
Draw a small eyebrow above each of Morty’s eyes, and draw a small “C” shape in the center of his face for his nose.
Step 4
Next, draw a large bean shape near the bottom of Morty’s head for his open smiling mouth.
Step 5
Draw Morty’s four small teeth, and a thin tongue.
Step 6
Morty has pretty simple hair. You can give him some hair by drawing a wavy half-circle above his head, with a small ear right below his hairline.
Step 7
Next, draw two small rectangles on Morty’s body for the sleeves of his T shirt.
Step 8
Now draw Morty’s long, thin arms extending outward from each of his T shirt sleeves. For this pose, we will be drawing one of Morty’s arms pointing upward to give him a little more motion.
Step 9
Draw a small circle at the end of each of Morty’s arms for his fists.
Step 10
Following the circles from the last step, draw Morty’s fingers curled into a fist on each hand.
Step 11
Finally, give Morty a little color– A yellow shirt, and some brown in his hair, and he’s ready for another adventure with Rick! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Be sure to share it on social media and come back for more! Happy drawing!
