Living room rug by Atlas Weavers! They custom designed it for me but now you can buy this exact one! ?
I’m not sure what caused the flip of my internal aesthetic switch lately, but my taste has seemingly gone from all-white minimal to bright and colorful in the past few months. Maybe I should blame it on my navy wall makeover for re-introducing color back into my life, but regardless–I’ve been drooling over Moroccan (I love the fluffy white qualities of the Boucherouite and Beni Ourain rugs with pops of color and minimalistic patterns) and pretty much any type of Turkish (or Turkish inspired) rugs–especially the overdyed and Kilim varieties!
Stating the obvious here–rugs are certainly are not the most budget-friendly of items, but an investment worth making to not only make your home more stylish, but comfortable too! It’s a key piece in achieving that “collected” feel that so many people strive for (myself included!) While I haven’t pulled the trigger on one rug in particular yet, I’ve found some pretty amazing websites along my shopping journey.
Some tips: If you’re wanting the real deal, the smaller Etsy shops are definitely the way to go, where owners travel several times per year to stock up on authentic goods. If you’re wanting to stick to the more “budget friendly” route and don’t care about having a real rug that came straight from an overseas market, a larger retailer might be more your speed.
