Paris Pied-à-Terre

by myklist

In another fit of spring cleaning, I decided to get rid of more magazines. I was going to throw out a stack of World of Interiors until I started to leaf through them. I came across this beautiful Paris pied-à-terre designed by Isabel López-Quesada that I don’t remember seeing before. The owners asked the interior designer to “create something quintessentially Parisian: classic, traditional, but also bright, subtle, and with the air of something that has never changed.” One thing that did change was the proposed separate kitchen and dining room. It’s a rarity to have one combined room but the American clients requested it for sociability. I do appreciate that it was designed to fit the style of the apartment. The French love a super contemporary kitchen that always looks at odds with the rest of their home. Since an apartment in Paris is something to which I also aspire, this one is definitely going in the file.
