LEGO Drawing Shadows STEAM Activity

by myklist

Our kitchen table is usually filled with markers, paper, Pokemon, and LEGO. I looked over one afternoon and saw my son drawing shadows with whatever latest LEGO invention he had going on at the moment. I snapped a few photos to show just what a little boredom, observation, and creativity can do for an afternoon. This drawing shadows STEAM activity is perfect for unplugged play.

DRAWING SHADOWS STEAM ACTIVITY WITH LEGO

Come mealtime, we are usually pushing aside the days play including poster board, LEGO pieces, markers, Minifigures, tape, glue, scissors, and the list goes on and on.

This summer I haven’t even bothered cleaning it up because I know it will come out right away. In fact, we even have been known to draw together while we eat. He is obsessed with Pokemon crafts right now.

Our kitchen is especially sunny in the mornings, and I looked over to see my son drawing shadows! He was like “look, mom, the LEGO make shadows aren’t they cool?” He wanted to see what he could build that would make interesting shadows, so he brought out more LEGO pieces trying to find unusual pieces.
