White Glue Slime – 2 Foolproof Elmer’s Glue Slime Recipes

by

Inside: Learn how to make slime with glue — the classic white glue slime — with 2 easy DIY glue slime recipes!

White Glue Slime

I learned to make white glue slime as a kid in science camp. My mom used to let me make oobleck (slime without glue) at home, but this glue slime was a whole new thing for me.

I was fascinated!

We made this easy slime recipe with Elmer’s glue and liquid starch. It’s a simple, 2-ingredient slime recipe and it’s super stretchy! I was hooked!

Little did I know back then that I would make a living out of making slime!

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make Elmer’s glue slime two different ways:

  1. White glue slime using liquid starch (the recipe I made as a kid)
  2. White glue slime using contact lens solution

In each section, you’ll also find a quick video tutorial so you can see exactly how to make homemade slime with glue, both ways!

White Glue Slime Recipe #1 (Liquid Starch)

I love this liquid starch white glue slime because you only need 2 ingredients! It truly is the easiest slime recipe ever!

Elmer’s Glue Slime Ingredients

TIP: Skip generic glues and stick to name brands like Elmer’s – we find that generic formulas don’t work as well. That’s because they don’t always contain the right polymers needed for the chemical reaction to activate slime.

Slime Troubleshooting and Storage

Slime Troubleshooting: If your glue slime becomes rubbery or breaks, it’s likely over-activated. Click here for a step-by-step guide that shows how to fix hard slime.

How to Store Your White Glue Slime:

  • After you’re done playing with your slime for the day, place it in a sealed air-tight container. We’ve used both rubbermaid containers or even a ziplock bag.
  • To prolong the life of your slime and avoid contamination, be sure to wash hands before playing.
